Slowly Returning to Normal

Advice on Elective Surgery

On Tuesday, 21 April 2020, the National Cabinet took the advice from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee that Australian dental practices can move from Level 3 Restrictions to Level 2 restrictions.

Our practice is able to fully implement care for patients and able to follow Level 2 restrictions published by the ADA. Unfortunately, there are still quite a number of procedures that we are unable to offer at this time. Treatments that will generate substantial aerosols are still restricted. That means, for the moment, will are still unable to offer professional cleans, though if you wish we can still undertake your check up. We encourage you to arrange your appointment if you have a dental concern.

We will resume most appointments for fillings, as this can be completed under isolation with rubber dam. We will also recommence deferred treatment for patients requiring dentures, jaw management issues and impressions for orthodontic retainers or splints. As all root canal procedures are performed under rubber dam and we will continue any cases that have been commenced.

We are returning to our normal opening hours. However we are still going to close a little earlier than normal due to reduced patient load. Together we are reducing the spread of COVID-19, and we look forward to returning to a more normal way of caring for you soon. If you have a question, reach out to our Springfield dentists for further guidance.

Important Update: Clinic Closed on March 6 & 7

We will be closed on Thursday, 6th March and Friday, 7th March due the impending effects of TC Alfred. We are continuing to monitor Government advice, and will update affected patient appointments accordingly for any necessary rescheduling into the early part of next week depending on TC Alfred’s outcome.

Like all businesses, our priority is the safety of both our staff and patients during what seems to be shaping up to be very challenging few days.
