Rugby-Playing-Not-Wearing-Mouthguard

March is Mouthguard Month here at Robelle Dental Centre.

Across Australia thousands of adults and children are treated for dental injuries that could have been prevented or minimised by simply wearing a properly fitted mouthguard. The Australian Dental Association strongly recommends the use of a custom fitted mouthguard. We recommend wearing your mouthguard:

  • where intentional collision and contact are part of the game such as rugby, hockey or boxing;
  • during any other sports or activity where there is a risk of accidental collision or impact at speed and/or with hard surfaces or equipment, e.g. cricket, basketball, netball, touch football, soccer, skating, skateboarding, acrobatics, martial arts;
  • at any age and skill level;
  • during games and all training sessions.

Making your mouthguard is simple. Our best dentist in Springfield will take an impression of your mouth and pour it up in dental plaster. Our dental laboratory then customizes the mouthguard to fit your mouth exactly. Unlike the “boil and bite” ones, custom mouthguards are comfortable to wear and stay securely in place during your sport.

Play it safe, make an appointment or give our reception staff a call on 3470 1313.

Important Update: Clinic Closed on March 6 & 7

We will be closed on Thursday, 6th March and Friday, 7th March due the impending effects of TC Alfred. We are continuing to monitor Government advice, and will update affected patient appointments accordingly for any necessary rescheduling into the early part of next week depending on TC Alfred’s outcome.

Like all businesses, our priority is the safety of both our staff and patients during what seems to be shaping up to be very challenging few days.
